Laurie Working

Hi, I'm Laurie

Laurie Katapski

Fractional CMO + Marketing Strategist · Marketing That Delivers

I help established service-based businesses and coaches simplify their marketing, tighten their processes, and move forward with a clear plan — without chasing every tactic or reinventing the wheel every month.

If your marketing feels busy but not effective, there's a reason. Most business owners don't need "more ideas." They need a focused direction, priorities, and a system they can actually execute.

That's where I come in.

What I do

For businesses that are great at what they do — but marketing has gotten scattered.

I work with clients who have grown their business but find that marketing has become inconsistent, harder to manage, or disconnected from real goals.

Strategic Marketing blueprint

Together, we create:

  • A strategic marketing foundation tied to real business goals
  • Clear positioning and messaging — so your audience gets it quickly
  • Simple, repeatable processes so execution doesn't depend on motivation
  • Prioritized marketing plans that fit your time, team, and budget
  • Marketing team direction and support to keep things moving and accountable

In other words: I help transform your marketing mayhem into marketing momentum.

Where I've been

30+ years of marketing from the inside out.

I've spent over three decades in marketing roles across organizations of different sizes — which means I understand marketing from brand strategy and planning all the way through execution, team leadership, and what it takes to build a cohesive brand.

My early "marketing career" started long before I had a title. Growing up in Orange County, California, I was always building something — selling handmade creations door-to-door, organizing neighborhood events, even writing a neighborhood newspaper. That same mix of creativity and follow-through carried into my professional life.

I built my career in the restaurant and hospitality space, leading marketing for well-known brands with deep exposure to the full customer experience and the realities of driving revenue in competitive markets.

Eventually, I started Marketing That Delivers to bring that expertise to the businesses that need it most: strong operators who want smarter marketing, not more noise.

Brands I've led marketing for

O'Charley's · Perkins · Marie Callender's · Kona Grill
and others across the restaurant + hospitality space

Experience spans

  • Brand Strategy
  • Marketing Planning
  • Team Leadership
  • Campaign Execution
  • Positioning + Messaging
  • Revenue Growth

How I work

Strategic, thorough, and highly practical.

I bring my professional acumen to the table and adapt to best leverage it with each business I work with — because every business is unique. I'm the person who will:

Ask the right questions — even the "obvious" ones that often uncover the real issue.

Connect the dots across your brand, offer, audience, and channels.

Build a realistic plan that actually fits your business — not a generic template.

Execute with structure and accountability so things keep moving.

"Clients tell me they value my ability to focus on high-impact initiatives, making their marketing far more strategic and efficient — along with keeping projects moving at the level of detail needed."

A little more personal

Phoenix-based. Trail-loving. Coffee-dependent.

I'm based in Phoenix, Arizona — the Valley of the Sun — and love being able to hike and be outdoors year-round (summer included, as long as you get out early).

I frequent the many running, hiking, and biking trails nearby, along with local coffee hangouts — non-negotiable when I need a change of scenery.

My home office sidekicks are Dixie and Gizmo, who provide equal parts supervision and comic relief.
